If you’ve read any of my product reviews before, you know that we are huge fans of Enjoy Life Foods. In fact, the product I’m going to share with you today was the very first allergy-free product we tried. We were at my friend Jen’s house and she had some on hand (she has 2 children with Celiac) and gave us one. My son was an instant fan! Even now, these are snacks he takes to school for when the snack that is served is not something he can have. So when Enjoy Life Foods said they wanted to send me their new and improved Chewy Bars to review, it didn’t take long for me to reply, “Yes, please!”
Enjoy Life sent me 4 boxes of their Chewy Bars and as usual, we were not disappointed. They are the perfect size for a snack and they are small enough to take them anywhere while on the go. These often accompany us to get groceries or even when we go to Bible Study Fellowship every week and the snacks served there might be a problem for my son.
The new bars are chewier and softer than ever, and come in 4 flavors:
Caramel Apple
Choco Loco
Sunbutter Crunch
Very Berry
I would have to say that while we like all of the flavors, the unanimous favorite is Choco Loco. It makes your taste buds make you think you’re being bad and satisfies that need for something chocolatey, but only packing in 110 calories, 3.5g fat, 2g protein, 2g fiber and 16g carbohydrates (which made this gestationally diabetic mama VERY happy!)
Best of all, I know that I can serve these bars to my son and have confidence that he will not come in contact with his trigger allergens. Enjoy Life foods are processed in a dedicated facility that is free of the top 8 allergens (see the exception for their mini-chips and chocolate chunks.) This helps me choose this product over others that I might have questions about and it also helps me tell others exactly what he CAN have. Which is sometimes a short list, you know?
